Urban Tree Project - Vivid Sydney at Martin Place

A beautiful addition to Vivid Sydney festival this year at Martin Place is the transformation of the MLC building into an urban tree. The tree shoots up from a seed, slowly spreading its branches and before you know the building is covered with lush green leaves providing a natural habitat for birds, insects and butterflies. This light projection has been mastered exceptionally well blending the architecture of the building seamlessly into a living tree. Kudos to the people behind this idea and for highlighting the importance of greenery for the existence of all forms of life. To know more please visit Vivid Sydney website.

Windermere lake - here we come.

Hi guys, hope you are doing good, I am back to blogging after a small gap, was pretty busy moving my home. Well let me not waste any more time and welcome you back to the journey in Lake district with me.  Continuing from my previous post - after we started from Aira Falls on a road trip to Lake Windermere, I was not quite sure what to expect. The roads were very narrow and it was raining heavily, so trusting my satellite navigation device I was blindly following the route and few minutes into the drive, the road started off on an elevation. It was all normal until I saw distant hills and a narrow road snaking in between them and I knew instantly that this drive is going to be fun. It was a beautiful experience driving through the hills in rain and mist and the mist just got thicker and thicker with elevation. ReWind - Harbour Bridge Walk

An artsy black and white capture of an evening walk on the harbour bridge. You can see the harbour bridge on the right and the city on the left amidst all the fast paced action. Actually quite an exhilirating walk from Milsons Point, I wonder why I did not do this before. Will surely be going again soon.. For this scene, I wanted to get the lowest shutter speed on the nicely lit sunny evening and to my dispair found that I did not even have the polarising filter threaded readily onto my wide angle lens. Some quick thinking and I dialled in the lowest ISO of 100, narrowed down the aperture to f/22 to give me a shutter speed of 1/5 of a second to capture this pre-visualised scene.
